Bucharest, October 1-10, 2010
The 4Culture Association is pleased to announce the 5th edition of the international contemporary dance festival eXplore dance festival, to take place in Bucharest, between October 1-10, 2010.
A unique event in Romania, the festival presents each year important choreographers from the international scene and creates a special context to promote emerging artists.
For the first time in Romania, Wim Vandekeybus’s Ultima Vez (Belgium) will present in the opening of the festival the performance Monkey Sandwich (the 2010 premiere).
Among the performances featured in this year’s festival are: Dance for nothing, by Eszter Salamon (Hungary/Germany), I did once a piece (walk+talk), by Milli Bitterli (Austria), How heavy are my thoughts, by Ivana Muller (Croatia/The Netherlands). The festival will also host dance movies projections, dance workshops, as well as lectures held by the invited artists.
During the festival, the 4Culture Association also organises the Jardin d’Europe international residences, finalised with informal public presentations open to the audience. Jardin d’Europe gathers 9 European partners, among whom Romania, and is co-funded by the Culture 2007-2013 programme of the European Union.
